Or perhaps more to the point former MP for SW Surrey Jeremy Hunt’s ‘In Touch.’ Because the latest leaflet has very little to do with Tory achievements in ‘Your Waverley.’
Just a bit of trumpet blowing for ~Our Jeremy – or what?
But there is something very worrying going on here.
Because he knows, and we know, the police know and more important the residents of Farncombe and Godalming know who was behind the campaign against the spate of anti-social behaviour that has hit the area.
You know full well that it was the frustrated residents of Farncombe & Godalming that prompted a public meeting which was hosted by Cllr Penny Rivers and Cllr Paul Follows. They hosted a session for 220 people held in Farncombe, to which you were invited, and to which you didn’t attend. You can read all about that September meeting here. It was held at a time you were ‘spending more time with your family.’And twittering to Boris Johnson saying you hoped he was having as much fun being PM as you were having not doing it. The fightback has begun to deal with anti-social behaviour – “and make Farncombe great again.”
Waverley Cllr Rosoman and Cllr Paul Follows pledged to follow up on all the actions suggested by the public and subsequently, together they convened a meeting of the council, police, schools and youth groups partnership committee to deal with the serious issues and are implementing their actions.
Mr Hunt, you put out a survey which might as well have asked if people want free money. 91% support for more visible policing…of course people want that.
So come on Jeremy, be honest, it is hardly YOUR CAMPAIGN is it really ?- So apologise to the residents of Farncombe and Godalming – for attempting to hijack THEIR campaign as your own. Because the public isn’t stupid and they have ways and means of ensuring you understand that.
Some Tories are showing themselves to be as disrespectful to the fallen – as they are to the voting public.
You may be unable to spot all those Waverley Borough Councillors who lost their seats in the May elections, but thankfully we here at the Waverley Web can!
One ousted Tory Jim Edwards commented on this scurrilous blog that the Lib Dem candidate had dared to put up a poppy on his post. A post that was informing everyone that he had absolutely intention of campaigning during the Remembrance Day period! What Humbug!
Was it just former Councillors invited? Or just Saga members?
However, he failed to mention that Angela Richardson the new Boris Babe surrounded herself and her NBF with… a wreath of the words… ‘At the going down of the sun, and in the morning… how disgraceful was that?! Boris’s new babe!
Don’t worry Angela – once met never forgotten. And the WW only met you once! And, that was when you were asking us for money to help the Guildford & Villages Con Assoc – ensure Anne Milton was elected.
She’s not just Boris’s Babe though? She has even managed to persuade Matt Hancock the former Secretary of State for Health down to the old Cranleigh Village Hospital to-day for a photocall. Our Annie couldn’t manage that even though she was a Health Minister for years. But then, she didn’t buy her way into the Conservative Association – she earned her way in.
Though of course, Annie took her gun to health officials on numerous occasions while in Government – including those who closed Cranleigh’s community hospital.
National Radio are clearly phoning round local Conservative Associations for comment on leadership and any swivel-eyed loons that are left to vote for them… Here’s the audio!
Chairman of SW Surrey Conservative Association Denise Le Gal, who was recently ousted from her Farnham seat on Waverley Borough Council takes part in a radio phone-in to speak up for Prime-Minister contender The Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP for SW Surrey.
She argues Hunt speaks up for the 48% of those who voted to remain in the European Union and is confident he can do the deal.
Ms Le Gal said at a public event after the Referendum that she had urged her children to hang on tight to their Canadian passports, just in case they wanted to leave the country.
During numerous interviews this week Jeremy Hunt claims he is an MP in a marginal constituency!
It appears from her personal FB profile that Kirsty Walden the prospective Conservative candidate for Waverley’s Godalming Central and Ockford Ward is – so excited – because she is soon to start a 6-month secondment in Brussels.
Obviously, this could be a misunderstanding and she never meant to imply the relocation was to Brussels (perhaps the photo was posted in Brussels but shows their London office?) but surely if true, she should clarify to voters just how she intends to represent her ward from Belgium?
Perhaps she will be another one of Denise Le Gal’s CHINOS who she laughingly described as – “Councillors Here in Name only,” and of whom she is so proud? You can watch her here by clicking on the link below.
Here’s yet another ‘CHINO’ who Mayor Denise Le Gal, fondly refers to as
‘Councillors Here in Name Only.’
They just keep on coming, don’t they? Councillors who for the past four years have only rocked up on a few occasions. But, have managed to bank their allowances, free car-parking badge and other council perks!
Let’s hope the new occupant of Farnham’s Moor Park seat left by the ‘very retiring’ Cllr Hill, who failed miserably to represent residents, makes a better job of things?
A Touch of Frost is on the run from her Wrecclesham & Rowledge seat – so she can continue to spew forth what her name suggests, – ‘A Touch of Frost,’ alongside her Tory running-mate Rashida Nasir. But, having thrown their hats into the ring, this undynamic duo might find they have a fight on their hands, after Cllr Hill’s dismal attendance record.
Farnham Residents’ candidates are Andy MacLeod, who after a great showing took the Surrey County Council Farnham Central seat received a nasty case of Frostbite from his opponent pictured. He is joined by former Waverley employee and Union Rep Michaela Martin. Oh Lordy, lordy – let’s hope Frost and Martin don’t end up going head to head at Waverley Towers!?
Conservative central office kindly sends out a template for local Councillors to fill in and pretend they are ‘In Touch’ This does rely on them having something to say. Nothing stops a Tory sticking out a leaflet with their faces in it – not even basic editing.
Unfortunately, the Godalming edition was sent to the printers with the templates still incomplete! We’d like to offer a bottle of Silent Pool Gin to the best caption writer out there – Please comment below!
So which local Tory is being beaten up over this glaring error? Perhaps Jeremy’s agent and local co-ordinator Edward Norman will consider his position or is he now too busy in Woking, Runnymede & Weybridge to spot these glaring mistakes.
Here at the Waverley Web we have one of our own:
‘Hands up if you think we can manage to get our leaflets in shape- let alone protect Godalming.’
