Grubby little developer changes horses to gallop through Waverley

Regular followers will remember how Thakeham Homes ONCE sucked up to the Conservative Party and ‘Your Waverley Planners.’

Company employees regularly boasted in Sussex pubs that they had the keys to the back door of No 10 in Boris’s day. They proudly displayed their name across every lanyard worn by attendees at the Tory Conference.

Look at me; I’m wearing my Thakeham Lanyard.

Even the once Tory-led Waverley council bet over backwards to help Thakeham.

It once invited its representatives to sit around the planning officers’ hallowed ground around its table in the centre of the council chamber. Its charm offence convinced them to support building on the notorious flood plains of Elmbridge Road in Cranleigh. The developer promptly sold off the land to another developer, who subsequently built up the land for homes to sit upon. Relieving those homeowners from flooding and increasing the flood risk to homes lower down in the nearby roads.

Those were the days, my friends! They thought it would never end! But now they have!

This grubby little outfit tells more lies than Tom Pepper, a person who, according to nautical tradition, was kicked out of hell for being a bigger liar than His Satanic Majesty. It gains planning consent where few should rightfully exist, has done a volte-face, and is now hedging its bets on who will win the next General Election.

When Sir Keir unveiled his starter for six pledges yesterday, there giving some pro-Starmer gush was… yes, you guessed it, house-building tycoon Thakeham, who once donated shedloads of cash to the Tories and dressed them in their smart lanyards.

So the company that builds on flood plains and tells residents of villages like Cranleigh and Alfold one thing and does another has changed horses. From here on, we will dub them FAKE EM!

So, our poor old MPs Jeremy Hunt and Angela Richardson, who proudly wore their  Thakeham lanyards, have been dumped for Keir Starmer’s cohorts.

The Conservative party sells advertising space, charging corporations to brand the lanyards that house the security passes conference attendees must wear at all times inside the Conference’s “secure zone.”

“Thakeham Homes”  made profits with help from Help to Buy.

Thakeham’s thuggery set to reap rich rewards.

  1. Up where my in laws live a grubby little developer built a small number of Executive homes a few hundred yards from the A5 near Nuneaton. They forget to ask for an access road to the A5, when they got round to asking, either the Dept Transport or the council said no. The houses are built but have stood empty for over a year. A joy to behold.
