Honesty, Transparency and Integrity?

Telling porkies is becoming such a habit within Waverley Borough Council, that ham sandwiches must be the refreshment of the day at the increasing number of “secret” meetings held in the council committee rooms. Now even the monthly Executive has been cancelled due to ‘lack of business’. WW thinks lack of openness more like…

pig
Fast asleep and lying in filth… Who is it? Answers on a post card please.

Look Waverley, the borough’s ALERT voting fodder are sick and tired of being misled by some of you. Don’t worry all new councillors, who have yet to be completely indoctrinated by your elders, most of us are aware that you are oblivious to what is going on…and we live in hopes that you just might, start questioning the way business is being conducted and demonstrate you actually have minds of your own! WW is relying upon you to bring the above three words back into the business that is WBC – for all our sakes!

Don’t be fobbed off with their excuses for not telling you the truth – after all covering serious matters up, helped to get you there.

Stand up and be counted unless you want to end up as minced up as the rest.

Nothing to discuss? Comment:

Well WW followers we all knew there would be a good explanation for the November Executive Meeting of the Council being cancelled – as in Waverley’s Weazley Words –

There is no business to discuss.”

Now here is the real reason.

THEY DIDN’T WANT FIREWORKS NIGHT IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER

So – this is how your Executive treat you rank and file Waverley Councillors. They treat you like they treat us, the borough’s voting fodder – keep us in the dark treat us like mushrooms and throw a bucket of manure over us.

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE S*** BEFORE YOU TOO ARE COVERED IN IT!

The Gentleman doth protest too much…

Martin Bamford

So angry is Cranleigh businessman, Martin Bamford, for what he describes as our blogs libellous comments, (actually WW reproduced his comments about his change of heart over development on the green fields), that he is threatening to unmask the contributors of this blog. What all nine of us Martin? WOW, that will be an achievement…

There is no such thing as Libel, if it is the truth Martin, surely you know that? We at Waverley Web are not immune to the laws which govern this land, neither do we ignore them, in fact we take them very, very, seriously. Since when has telling the truth been against the law?

Martin Bamford blog post – 22 Oct 2015

Did you change your mind (again?) about your blog post Martin? You posted the above post on the 22 Oct, (yes, we saw it, and thankfully, took a screenshot) and then by the end of the day, you had deleted it and replaced it with the post below. Did you have a change of heart?

We at Waverley Web, think your blog needs your stats pushed – so readers, go and show Martin some love – you can visit his blog here in all its glory. He obviously has plenty of time on his hands to track every visitor to his blog..

That you are upset that your u-turn has been revealed, we fully understand – but come on, it is not a crime to change your mind, women do it all the time! Neither is there any shame in supporting development all over the green fields, in fact you’re in good company – your thoughts appear to be in-line with most of Cranleigh’s borough and parish councillors, with the exception of the Cranleigh Civic Society. Lots of developers are trying to build all over the borough and some have already made a start…

However, your father doesn’t feel quite the same way as you do, and neither do many other people in Waverley. Go on… read his letter in the Surrey Ad. Here’s just a few sentences of what he had to say a few months ago:

“Facilities and  roads first please. The two Richards use the word sustainability as a bedrock of their argument in favour of Berkeley Homes and the KPI. But sustainability might also be applied to other  important things – like sustainability of the green fields around our village.”

“There are only B roads in Cranleigh. There is no railway station. Surely housing development policy should require both? A friend of mine said this week he had to wait five weeks to get a blood test at Cranleigh Health Centre. When he challenged this, the response he got was, we have to look after 18,000 patients”

“Currently there have been outline planning applications for 1,700 homes – perhaps 5,000 or more people. Can you begin to imagine the traffic? And how about just building on the brown field sites and building a light railway to Guildford?”

He ends with – “Does this make me sound like a NIMBY?” Perish the thought you would ever call Mr Bamford Snr one of those, would you Martin?

Enough, enough we hear you cry – but you are entitled to your own opinion.

By the by… you now need to find 10 contributors to this blog and judging by the comments we are receiving at contact@waverleyweb.org, there is a mounting band of WW Brothers out there, eager to spill the beans. We will pledge to ensure it is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. If we get it wrong we will say so.

The incessant concrete march of developers goes on unabated…

You can understand why Waverley’s planning portal is not updated – because the council is up to its strangulated neck in planning applications, and doesn’t know which way to turn!

The other reason, just in case you’re unaware, is that Crest Nicholson, along with many other would-be Cranleigh developers, are all being aided and abetted by Cranleigh borough councillors, with County Councillor Alan Young as their ‘Cheer Leader in Chief’ and the Cranleigh Chamber of Trade hanging on their coat tails.

Crest Nicholson, which has planning consent for 150 homes in Horsham Road in the bag – let’s refer to that as Phase 1 – appears to have now moved onto Phase 2.  They don’t have time to attend all the ‘not-so-secret’ secret meetings at Waverley with Borough, parish councillors,  and other would-be developers – they’re too busy dig, dig, digging away. You didn’t really think they would stop at one development did you?

Meanwhile back at the Threadneedle Ranch – you know the developers with the brownfield site (not to be confused with The Knowle Park Initiative that has the ‘brown nose site’ – so called locally, because KPI is so far up the local borough, county and any other councillor’s **** that it can penetrate), that Threadneedle didn’t even bother to attend the latest ‘not-so-secret’ secret meeting, because, according to rumour, they’re put off by the smell that’s permeating from the ‘not-so-secret’ secret meetings!

No cover-up? Pull the other one Waverley…

No – of course you didn’t cover anything up – like hell you didn’t. You just didn’t tell anyone and hoped you would’t be found out to be the disingenuous bunch you are. WBC – you knew exactly what was going on, and in your normal style, you hoped all would not be revealed, now you are hiding away under the blanket of:

“We cannot comment because it is the subject of a police investigation”

Now, 18 months after the event, one of your own former managers is spilling the beans – a whole catering tin of them. He claims the decision not to publicise the £200,000 fraud in the build-up to the elections  was surprise, surprise – politically motivated.

A meeting was hastily organised by Executive Director, “Wonder Wenham” and HR Director, “Name the Gane“. Senior Managers were told the fraud investigation had to be kept quiet and out of the press, due to the build-up to the 2015 elections. The whistleblower said the meeting was symptomatic of the “bullying culture” at Waverley, claiming staff morale was at an all-time low as a result of the council’s draconian and humiliating policies. No Councillors were briefed, after all they are just voters’ fodder!  In the interest of balance, WBC has denied any such meeting took place, Well, they would wouldn’t they.  Who do you believe the Whistleblower or Waverley Borough Council? Answers in the comment blob above.

A spokesman for the council said, it had no policy on reporting serious matters, such as fraud investigations to councillors, either in public meetings or private briefings, beyond signing-off committee minutes at meetings of the Full Council.

LESSON NO. 383 FOR COUNCILLORS:
READ THE DAMNED MINUTES/PAPERWORK IN FUTURE!
OTHERWISE, GOD KNOWS WHAT YOU MIGHT BE SIGNING OFF!

Beware all the new Independent Farnham Residents councillors! Question your betters as you have started to, and you will get the same treatment metered out to the likes of UKIP councillor Diane James – and we all know what happened to her! Remember what Councillor Band told you “your comments are not helpful”.Screen Shot 2015-10-30 at 21.04.03
