Place your bets on “Your Waverley” treating Farnham’s Magnificent Seven” with a modicum of fairness.

Sing-a-long with the Magnificent Seven to be joined by…?

The Waverley Web is not normally a betting outfit – in fact we don’t know our accumulators from our odds on favourites. However, we are offering a….Screen Shot 2016-08-03 at 08.54.00

…If they  agree with us that the Farnham  Residents’ new Councillors’ Messrs Ward and Hyman won’t have a dogs’ chance in hell of being treated with the respect they deserve having trounced  the Tories in the town’s recent  By-elections?

The people of Shortheath and Boundstone, and  Castle Wards may  have spoken. They used the democratic process to return these two men both of whom  now represent the Farnham Residents’Group. But that doesn’t mean they will be accepted by “Your Waverley.” Does it?

Courageous Councillor John Ward resigned from the Conservative party he had served loyally for many years, because he was sickened by the way the party controlled its councillor “servants.” He truly believed he had been elected to the Town Council to serve the people of Farnham and not to be controlled by the controlling party freaks!

But will he, his Farnham Resident and his colleague – Jerry Hyman now get a look in at “Your Waverley?” WW will wait, watch and hope.

In recent years, officers have collaborated with The powerful Executive to ensure no senior roles go to Independents or any minority party.

Never more so than with the UKIP councillor for Ewhurst Diane James. There are now six non Conservative borough councillors and a new Farnham Residents town councillor.  Will they be provided with the tools to do the jobs they have been elected for? Will officers and fellow councillors co-operate to ensure these men and women get a fair crack of the whip! Needless to say not the  the Tory one!

Watch this space! All may soon be revealed.

P.S.  In the spirit of fairness we must not ignore the success of Conservative Wyatt Ramsdale who narrowly captured the Surrey County Council seat.
