One Waverley pub bites the dust and another’s leashold is for sale.

 The Donkey pub in Elstead has called last orders.

In March, the popular Donkey pub near Elstead permanently closed its doors, and the recently refurbished Bull Pub and Restaurant in Ewhurt is up for Sale.

 After 25 years as publicans of the brewery-owned premises,  Lee and Helen thanked everyone for their customs over so many years.

The news surprised many, with regulars flooding the Facebook comments section to express their shock while sharing their support and fond memories.

One person said: 

Wishing you and the donkeys all the very best for the future!”

Another said:

“So many happy memories of fantastic food, wonderful friendly service and great company over the years you will be missed!”

 

 Meanwhile the leasehold of  The Bulls Head, in Ewhurst, is for sale  – £20,000

According to Agents, the leasehold on this prominent and extensively renovated property is up for grabs. With seven en-suite bedrooms, two trade areas, and a front patio, the property is described as suiting a hands-on owner-operator or passive owner with a management team to instill.

The listing states that the hotel rooms already thrive and suggests that a new operator could greatly increase turnover by introducing a new menu focusing on the bar and dining aspect of the business.
