Shouldn’t Elstead and Cranleigh residents be told WHY?
Or is that Secret Squirrel hiding his nuts Again?
Along with Waverley residents, the Waverley Web is getting sick and tired of being treated like a bed of mushrooms being kept in the dark and having a shedload of manure thrown over it. We don’t believe there is a problem with either of the plans themselves; more likely, it is the legal process.
However, tell it as it is, Waverley Borough Council – we’re grown-ups and can take it; whatever the reason, we don’t like being treated like voting fodder!

This is all that appears on the WAVERY BC Website.

According to the Cranleigh Society…
“there has been a minor legal hitch, and a legal process is taking place due to complex referendum legislation.
and warning…
“it is important not to speculate.”
Residents have been told that they will be advised by letter.
If you treat people to silence they fill the void with much noise.
If somebody blundered at a local level compliance would have picked it up.
It only ended up in the High Court because
Compliance was tardy
Someone reported it
The Judge agreed
Could it possibly be that Follows has yet again failed and ignored reality as is his want. A trait he is renowned for. His leadership is blind to sharp reality and the result is this unedyfing mess of councillors gagged and democracy ill served.
A technicality. My backside.
And whom is to say it is. We simply do not and probably will never know the truth. Because they wont tell us and reveal themselves for what they are. And they wonder why all respect for democracy and it’s servants have suffered.
MeaninglessMud
So there you go, a developer has intervened and put a stop to it via the courts, greed wins again and the views of local people are trampled on in preference of lining someone’s pocket, I knew that would be the case, they can dress it up all they like but the reality is that developers are riding roughshod over the public.
Those few green spaces left in Cranleigh are precious and should remain so.. We have had enough of Greedy developers running roughshod over what was a village!
Is it worth Waverley Web asking the High Court for the reasons?
It is certainly worth a try – watch this space.
With a website like this, an echo chamber for disgruntled failed architects and councillors, are you sure you are grown ups?
