Waverley pays tribute to Councillor Brian Adams who died this week.

The flag flew at half-mast this week at The Burys as ‘Your Waverley’ paid tribute to one of its own.

Councillor Brian Adam, the ward member for Frensham, Dockenfield and Tilford, died earlier this week.

John Robini Mayor of Waverley

Councillor John Robini, the Mayor of Waverley, said:

“Since being elected as ward councillor for Frensham Dockenfield and Tilford in 2011, Cllr Adams has worked tirelessly on behalf of residents.

“He has made a huge contribution to the borough, having spent time on the former Executive Committee as Portfolio Holder for Planning and more recently as a respected member of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Western Planning Committee and Surrey County Council Local Committee.

“Cllr Adams was also deeply committed to public service outside of the council. He was a member of the Honourable Artillery Company, Royal Yachting Association and National Trust.

“All our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this terribly sad time.”

We here at the Waverley Web add our condolences. Brian Adams was a fine,  well-respected, gentle man who served us well.
