In a nutshell – Mr and Mrs Tim House of Milford are seeking permission from the High Court to challenge the inclusion of land near their home close to Milford Golf Course in Waverley’s (not so daft) Local Plan.

But here’s where The Centre For Cities believes development should go.http://www.centreforcities.org/blog/consensus-green-belt-reform-growing-pressure-government-act/

Milford is the obvious place to build new housing in the Waverley area. More obvious than any other location in the whole borough.
This site is within walking distance of a mainline station (the station could easily be extended for 12 coach trains). Access from Milford onto the A3 is a few hundred metres from this site, it is close to the A31, and it has easy road links into nearby Guildford, Farnham and Godalming. Also, this site is very close by the River Wey, making discharge outflow from a sewage treatment works very simple to do.
The Government has signalled releasing Green Belt land all around the South East for badly needed new housing stock, and there is plenty of land on this site and in and around Milford for new housing. It makes far more sense to build here than in gridlocked, exhaust fumes choked Farnham or “miles-from-anywhere” Cranleigh served only by narrow B roads.
