This pavement in Godalming is just one example of Surrey County Council’s poor workmanship.
All over the county, potholed roads and broken pavements result in accidents that could be easily avoided.
Just imagine catching a heel in this crater and flying into the road. An injury or worse!
When will they ever learn
One of our followers reported this to SCC – as being “highly dangerous “- on the corner of Queen Street Godalming at its junction with High Street.
It’s been fixed before, but badly. When will they learn at County Towers that cheap road/pavement fixes don’t last long?
The cost
Shoddy workmanship and ignoring pavements across the county equals a blue-light trip to the nearest A&E department for an X-ray or scan. A possible serious injury requiring attention from various doctors, nurses, and orthopaedic surgeons, possibly crutches, months of physiotherapy, and an inability to work. Plus, it is giving the poor, overworked hospital staff yet another job to do!

That kerb repair is such a poor job. What happened to skilled workmanship and pride in one’s work!
If only someone would add up the economics of a job done well.
