Congratulations for FINALLY meeting a Council Leader Jeremy! Even if he was a friendly Conservative, dropping in to your Constituency office for a cosy cup of tea. And between you you’ve agreed to get all the Stakeholders together for a Masterplan. EH?? Eh??

Isn’t that what you have been promising Farnham ay EVERY ELECTION since 2005 young man? Here’s your leaflet from  – wait for it – wait for it…

Aha! let’s look at No. 6 – “A Traffic Plan for Farnham:” Jeremy is working closely with local councillors and campaigners to develop a pedestrianisation plan for Farnham that is practical and viable.”

And 14 very painful and lung congested years later, that’s the best plan you can come up with – again!

And lets politely ignore the ‘Success’ you claimed for fighting Dunsfold New Town at No.3!

Dunsfold Garden Villge Coming soon – but thanks to Jeremy  Three years later than planned. And then only after shedloads of money down Waverley’s drain. –  Due to his intervention – 600/700 fewer homes built on the brownfield site- which now threatens the borough’s 5-year land supply and the loss of yet more countryside! Thanks Jeremy.

Watch out there’s an election about?

Screenshot 2019-10-10 at 10.09.20No longer a Minister, our SW Surrey MP Jeremy Hunt has remembered where his constituency is and is giving it a bit of a polish just in case there is an early general election and he can have another go at the top job?

Although, didn’t he say something about hoping that our Boris was enjoying the job of PM as much he was enjoying NOT doing the job?

However we aren’t really cynics – we are delighted to see somebody – anybody – champion the cause of Air Pollution in Farnham. Even though Farnham residents have been choking on fumes for years.

Perhaps Gerry Hyman, the Farnham Residents’ councillor for Firgrove Ward who, along with other Farnham residents, has been working and worrying officers’ on the issue for years, should have been on that walk with Mr. Hunt?

Oh! And he sets up a Charity, according to the health Service Journal.Screen Shot 2019-10-11 at 09.18.20.png

A message from the WW to Mr. Hunt.

You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all the people some of the time – but not all of the people all of the time.’

You have used Farnham’s pollution and traffic problems as your electoral bandwagon, onto which you have just loaded The Haslemere Hospital.  Don’t be surprised if your cynical attempt at getting the hospital’s staff or any other local NHS staff on-side backfires. Because many of us who worked under your leadership in the health service, have long memories.

PS.

Has the MP found time to meet with the new Leaders of Waverley Borough Council yet? We heard numerous meetings have been cancelled because he has been so busy? Perhaps dealing with Farnham’s traffic and pollution problems?

Jeremy Hunt on the Farnham campaign trail?

Could ‘Your Waverley’ earn the title this year?

All of us here at the Waverley Web wonder if anyone, yes anyone, will be held responsible?

Based on ‘Your Waverley’s track record for concealing/covering up or ignoring its mistakes…. don’t hold your breath. Or on second thoughts if you live or shop here in Farnham, perhaps holding your breath could be a lifesaver!

Surrey Police has confirmed that, so far, no arrests have been made at ‘Your Waverley.’

Waverley Borough Council referred itself to the police over erroneous air quality data two weeks ago so this will be the second criminal investigation to be undertaken in the country into the publication of erroneous air quality data by a local council.

WAVERLEY BOROUGH COUNCIL INVESTIGATED BY POLICE!

Waverley Borough Council referred itself to Surrey Police over its annual status report for 2016, which was withdrawn in October.
The news comes five months after Cheshire Police launched an investigation to probe Cheshire East Council’s flawed nitrogen dioxide (NO2) data.

Last August, Cheshire East Council reviewed hundreds of planning decisions to ensure that none had been impacted by the incorrect data and it likely that Waverley Council will have to do the same. More taxpayer’s money down the drain?

The issue prompted a legal challenge, subsequently dismissed at the High Court, from a developer to the Cheshire Council’s local plan, which was adopted in July.

Waverley’s referral became public on 19 February. Surrey Police has confirmed that it has made no arrests so far and is establishing if any criminal offences have taken place.
Waverley Council says it will make no further comment while the inquiry progresses.

The Leader of the council has announced that it has now signed contracts with developer Crest Nicholson to begin the controversial East Street development in Farnham – the town that is the subject of the police investigation. Trees have now been cut down along the A31 in readiness for a construction bridge, to access the site and traffic queues have stretched as far as the eye can see – causing yes, you guessed – more air pollution!
