When will you realise that the residents don’t watch all of Waverley’s YouTube info? They get their news from social media sites. They are not engaged, and you are NOT HELPING!
I have spoken to so many residents with NO IDEA what is going on. As long as they are kept in ignorance – they will listen to the rhetoric that says Unitary Authorities will save them money and give them more local power.
For a long time, I have felt too much was going on at WBC, and no one was listening to the ongoing grass route problems. Now I know why. You will have to reengage with your electorate, Waverley, if you think you can pull this off—and I hope you do!
Stop playing politics for a short time and engage, or people will look at the figures and say they will save squillions by not having an election in May and not realise they are losing something vitally important— democracy at the grassroots.
I watched the council’s Exec. Meeting – and whilst there was lots of good stuff – you are missing the point! PEOPLE ARE NOT WATCHING – Until you engage with the residents – what goes on with you and SCC is irrelevant. Few people have any ideas (unless they read the Waverley Web ) about what or who Tim Oliver is… or what he is trying to do. Take over Surrey.
I think it is right there needs to be change – and it should be done with a consensus of residents – but for goodness sake, KEEP THEM INFORMED.
I sometimes think that WBC thinks we are all too stupid to know what is going on, and only YOU can make those critical decisions – Well, you are WRONG. It will come back and bite you on the Butt!
We must have local elections, which will mandate the electorate to make decisions. But they need to KNOW what is going on. Make it understandable for everyone, and do it soon. It simply isn’t enough for you all at WBC to think you are the BIG I AM… You are NOT what we are!

Must admit it would never occur to me to look at you tube for WBC information! Then again nor would I look at any anti social media for it as I don’t use any of those useless platforms! So thank you WW for your regular emails!
