‘Your Waverley slams decision to drill for fossil fuels in Dunsfold.

Here’s how Cllr Steve Williams, the architect of Waverley Borough Council’s Climate Change Strategy and Portfolio Holder for the Environment and Sustainability, responded to the High Court decision.

His anger when referring to the decision at Tuesday’s Executive was palpable.

But the David & Goliath battle isn’t over yet.

Here’s how others responded yesterday. Drilling for fossil fuels in Dunsfold given the go-ahead

The David & Goliath type fight is on to reverse the decision for UKOG to drill at Dunsfold.

To be continued…

  1. And your point is?
    Anger will not win this.
    Calculated action will.
    Time to consider liberty.

    Which of course leads to

    Arrest

    Imprisonment

Welcome to the country you have allowed it to become.

Alas. There is more to come.

I agree with the sentiment of the anger but all was agin from the start. This is a stitch up by a few highly placed supporters of the ruling elite. You apply democratic process and they laugh in your face.

It’s down to you to be courageous. It’s your place your heritage your future. If you believe then you will fight for it.

  2. The Government’s net zero pledges are very costly and likely to increase the National deficit and debt. If it was serious about net zero it would consume less, waste less and move to a circular economy. At least at the moment we have French Nuclear power and the power interconnections to provide energy security with contributions from coal.

The UK’s energy import bill more than doubled in a year to £117 billion, slightly ahead of UK interest payments. The Offshore Energies UK report (OEUK) has said this is the first time that annual UK energy import costs have broken the £100 billion barrier, and it equates to £4,200 per UK household. To keep energy affordable and the lights on it is necessary to think globally. It is a pity Governments squandered the North Sea oil and gas windfall instead of investing it wisely.
