Some good news on planning issues in ‘Your Waverley.’ And… some bad!

We will let Cllr Andy MacLeod Portfolio Holder for Planning Policy Services update you in his own words.

The Farnham Residents representative for Farnham Moor Park was speaking at Your Waverley’s recent Executive meeting – when he announced  the outcome of a crucial planning appeal for 140 homes in Lower Weybourne Lane, Farnham. Is time for the people of Waverley to come to the aid of Farnham?

Cllr MacLeod looking visibly  relieved said developer Bewley Homes appeal had been dismissed by a Government Inspector. An appeal, which if allowed, would  have blown a large hole in Farnham’s Neighbourhood Plan.

However, there was a sudden change in his demeanour when he referred to the Inspector’s comments on Waverley’s crucial Five Year Housing Land Supply figures.

A judgement that doesn’t bode well for future planning appeals in the borough.

You may also notice that we can all expect an improved service from the planning department in the coming weeks as it returns to normal.

Is ‘Your Waverley’s new leader facing his first major challenge?

Is it easier to get in touch with the Pope than Waverley’s planning dept?
