Recently, a Ewhurst resident spotted a big cat—a huge cat.
The WW apologises for not capturing the resident’s name, but she is convinced she saw something huge and black. We know it’s Halloween, but she is confident that in daylight, she saw something resembling a big black cat
. Now, Gary Ridley has responded to the sighting.
So, has the Surrey Puma returned?
Take a look at th website. Below.

Hi. Following the sighting of a big black cat by two of your residents on Friday morning. I would like to draw your attention to my website. surreypantherwatch.co.uk
It would seem that the Surrey Puma is again active in your area. It’s probably not a puma, but more likely a black leopard. Please don’t be alarmed by this! As to date, no humans have been harmed. You’re in no real danger unless you corner it. If you do come upon it. bring any children and/or pets in close and stand up tall. back away slowly. Don’t run! Chances are it will just slink off. SPW have received many reports over the years throughout the Surrey hills of puma type cats, black panthers and lynx. All not here according to the government! But we now have confirmed DNA that a Leopard killed a sheep in the lake district. Our aim is to conclusively prove the existence of big cats living wild in surrey and across the UK without causing them any harm or disturbance. We would like to hear from anyone who sees this, or any other big cat. We would also like to hear from any large private landowners who would accommodate us putting out camera traps.

Facebook has been full of previous sightings. Too many to mention here.
I’ve definitely seen 2 different ones – one was years ago in Albury, a field near old mill where do fishing – definitely black
Earlier this year in the field on the left one morning between Alfold and Bucks Green – brown
I remember a lady posting about seeing a brown version of Winterfold on a school run a couple of years ago.

Is April Fool’s day very late this year? Or perhaps Halloween a day early?
