Do you want speed limits reduced?
The townsfolk of Cranleigh, Farnham and Godalming tell us they only wish they could drive at 20 mp- 5 mph is a luxury most days.
Surrey County Council, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, National Highways, Surrey Police and the Police and Crime Commissioner have set out plans to eliminate road collisions resulting in death or serious injury by 2050 and want to know what you think.
The partners developed a new draft, the ‘Surrey RoadSafe Vision Zero’ strategy, focusing on five areas to help minimise the risk on Surrey’s roads. These are:
- Safe speeds – Safe speeds – ensuring our roads have appropriate speed limits. This includes a more flexible approach to 20 mph schemes. This will not be a blanket approach and instead focuses on schools, residential areas and town centres, and will take into account the views of local people
- Safe road users – encouraging competent, safe and respectful road users
- Safe roads and streets – streets that are well-designed, well-maintained and support active travel
- Safe vehicles – well-maintained and designed vehicles
- Post Collision Response – a fast and effective multi-agency response to collisions.

Why does it say the Consultation has closed on 24th March??
I clicked on the survey link and it came up as survey now closed for comments. Why am I not surprised that a SCC survey is not publicised until it is too late to contribute!
