One of our Cranleigh moles has just awoken from his Christmas hibernation to inform us that the village’s Chat Controller has resigned as President of The Chamber of Trade.

Oh, Ding, Dong Merrily on High – say some – commiserations he was doing a damn fine job, said others.
He claims that”escalating events” have prompted his resignation.
We think it may have been this blue bird above that pooped on his head after the mammoth-page puff produced by The Cranleigh Magazine that finally did it for him, as well as ‘ local people’ and “a shadowy anonymous activist.” Who can he mean?
Did the Chamber’s Cranleigh BID prompt his decision to hand over the Chamber’s crown? A bid which included the controversial inclusion of Cranleigh Village Health Trust’s land as part of the High Street’s retail and business sector? Can it?
If so, we can see villagers spitting fire at the mere suggestion that the recreational parish land they once owned and fundraised millions of pounds to provide a hospital with beds could ultimately become a Lidl or an Aldi. Perish the thought!
No wonder that bird pooped on his parade. Did that little bird out him for his conflict of interest?
Or did it have something to do with all those £100 fines for parking on the so-called community park he runs?
Note that little rectangular white space off Knowle Lane that Cranleigh Chamber of Commerce has had its beady little eye on for development!
Did he tell his board members and colleagues of his decision? Apparently not!

Recent flooding events recalled what he said about floods on fields he was supporting housing development on 10 years ago. He also had a blog where he nastily attacked the anti-flood activists of a civic society. But it was assumed at the time by wiser folks he was naïve and under the influence of others looking to cash in. It sounds distressing what he has been through and that’s not to be wished on anyone. But if you give it out be prepared to take it back or get out of the game. This seems to be the case here. Wishing him luck in breaking away from malign influencers who have used him. Perhaps in time what has happened over the past decade to Cranleigh will dawn on him. Current activists are putting in a shift against these bizarre SCC plans to ruin Cranleigh’s High Street and turn it into a dead precinct like Crawley. Liz Townsend has a new fight on her hands in a GE year when she will be knocking on doors. Pretty sure she’s anti those looking to materially harm Cranleigh and will work to save the High Street.
I expect Bamford will blame me for supplying you with information yet again. Doesn’t he realise that everything he writes is in the public domain?
He obviously prefers to think he has stalkers to make himself look more important than he really is 😂
As we heave repeatedly said: The Waverley Web has no connection with the Cranleigh Community Board – which is a brilliant asset to the area it represents, and doesn’t ban people who the Community Board doesn’t agree with. If it helps – the information was sent to us by one of the Cranleigh traders over there in that neck of the woods. A trader who had its own view of the shenanigans of the Chamber’s head honcho.
