  1. Due to loss of funds from central government, both councils as with many in the country are being forced to take difficult decisions, Waverley and Guildford have to save money if they wish to maintain a reasonable service to their residents and taking this action will allow them to do so.

    1. And quite right too. Across the country councils are going bust, and there will be many more if the underfunding continues.

  2. The government is broke and spends more than the nation earns. All its money comes from the hard pressed over taxed taxpayers, which is wastes on vanity projects and financial blunders. It would help if the Local Authorities paid more attention to where they risked taxpayers money, they moved into the high street when the wise moved out. As for the leisure centres the business interruption insurance proved inadequate judging by the COVID losses. Unfortunately bad decisions punish the innocent.
