A little bit of amusement on a day in the life of the country folk whose residents are up to their eyes in roadworks from utility companies as developers build – Cranleigh New Town!

Alfold Road has been shut for months due to a HUGE housing development on the former West Cranleigh Nurseries. 

Where once lettuces grew for the country’s major supermarkets, hundreds of new homes are bringing in families from across the country. Anyway, who needs food? We can always import it!

Numerous other roads are shut, Including Amlets Lane. Just another manic Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday … in Waverley

In the meantime, the nursery’s former owners have moved to rural Worcestershire.

I called the emergency construction number last Friday to report a missing crew not seen for 3 days.

Although it made me chuckle, he said, apparently, the hole is to let out gas and needs to be left for a week.

I wonder how much the bloke who sat in the traffic management car is getting paid by One Stop and the one sunbathing all last week (a couple of weeks ago) at the end of Alfold Road?
