Play along with the Waverley Web – you can do the actions as well if you like – we won’t tell!
A little birdie was spotted flying over the Farnham Con Club last Saturday as Waverley Borough Councillors and a Surrey County Councillor – -took advantage of the free car parking passes to attend a jolly/meet the MP/SW Surrey Conservative Association meeting?
Just in case you taxpaying dummies out there who are now paying even more to park your cars wondered if councillors are allowed to park for nothing – the answer is yes, but only when they are on Council business. Well there you are then- they must have been on Council business or they would not have been taking advantage of the free car parking…would they?
Tomorrow Saturday – those very same councillors will be chewing the cud in The Council Offices at The Burys, as they decide on their new Leader – because as we predicted read it here... Waverley’s own Olympic Torch may soon be snuffed out!
Far be it from the Waverley Web to start making predictions – but our very own Mystic Meg believes these are in the running:
We can all be thankful that Comrade Reynolds’ little skirmish with the Labour Party – read here: You can’t fool me Comrade… has put him out of the running, (TBTG) but here are those in line to try and resurrect Waverley Borough Council’s tarnished reputation.
Councillor Julia Potts (presently Deputy Leader) or better known by WW readers as “gone to Potts,” and famous for defending the East Street and every other dubious re-development in Farnham including The Gostrey Centre.
Councillor Stephen Mulliner – A very astute Barrister who talks a great deal of sense – but who nobody appears to listen too!
Councillor, Wyatt Ramsdale wears nice sweat shirts.
and last – Councillor Tom Martin. All we can say about him is that he is Peter Martin’s son and friend Of Leader Know-less.
WW hasn’t heard whether or not the people’s favourite is in the running. The Wiley Welshman Councillor Jim Edwards. He, who told Chief Executive Paul Wenham, “for Christ’s Sake get on with the Local Plan and if necessary, work 24/7 to achieve it.” Brave words or what? However, since he made that comment, the Daft Local Plan has been delayed…yet again! So perhaps no-one listens him either? The man actually recognised at a recent council meting that Waverley needed all the good PR it could get so poor was its image.
WHO ARE YOU PUTTING YOUR MONEY ON? HOWEVER, THERE COULD BE AN OUTSIDER? Watch this space!
